## Lock in and level up
It is finally fall, which means it is time to lock in and level up. Hey guys, it’s Kate, and welcome to my channel. So, a few years ago, I went through what I would consider my very first winter arc, and it was honestly one of the best level-ups I’ve ever done.
## Something needs to change
I don’t know why I haven’t been doing it consistently every single year, but from now on, that is going to change. And I didn’t become this perfectly disciplined person; I just decided that I was going to stop waiting until January to get my life together and use the last few months of the year to really work on myself so that by the time the new year came along, I had already built some momentum.
## Start your very own winter
So, I am definitely doing that again this year because I know that something needs to change in my life, and so if you feel like you need to get your life together, you need more discipline, or you just want to glow up, this is your sign to start your very own winter arc, and I’m going to show you exactly how to do that.
## Decide who you want to become
So, let’s get started. Music. Decide who you want to become. Before you start making a million goals, you have to ask yourself, who do I actually want to be by the end of this winter? Not just the things that you want to accomplish.
## How do you want to feel?
Think about how you want to feel. How does that version of you spend her time? What does she prioritize? How does she take care of herself? What habits does she have? What does she no longer tolerate?
## Winter non-negotiables
Your winter arc isn’t about just checking things off a list; it’s about becoming the person who naturally lives the life that you’re trying to create. Winter arc non-negotiables. Now it’s time to choose your non-negotiables, around five to six things that you are going to consistently prioritize.
## Don’t make this overly complicated
And please don’t make this overly complicated. You don’t need, like, 30 new goals. For example, my winter arc non-negotiables are going to be to move my body more, whether that is a 10 to 15 minute walk, yoga, strength training.
## 5 days a week
I’m going to aim for 5 days a week. To be more mindful of the food I eat. I’m not going to completely cut out takeout or junk food; I’m just going to prioritize food that I know will nourish and energize me.
## Quiet time every day
To have some sort of quiet time every day, meditating, journaling. I’m going to carve out time to really sit with myself each day. Pick up a hobby that will feed my soul.
## Pick up a hobby
So, I used to have a lot of hobbies that really made me happy, but I stopped them due to not having enough time, which honestly really took a toll on my mental health. So, I’m going to aim to pick up at least one this time around.
## A bigger goal
And finally, do something every day that will bring me towards a bigger goal, whether that is to really work on my personal brand and content creation or learning a new skill. Just something that I know will move me forward.
## Perfection and consistency
That’s it. The goal is not perfection; it’s consistency. Because if you create a routine that is so complicated that you can’t maintain it, you’re just going to quit. Don’t wait until January 1st.
## Your head start
Stop thinking of January as your starting point, because if you spend October, November, December thinking, “I’ll start in January,” you’re basically giving yourself 3 months of wasted momentum. Instead, think of these months as your head start.
## Start exercising now
Start exercising now. Start fixing your sleep now. Start reading those books now. Start fixing your career now. Start taking care of yourself now. That way, when January rolls around, you’re not saying, “Okay, new year, new me,” like everyone else.
## Let’s keep going
You’re saying, “I already got started, so let’s keep going.” Reset your life. Before you can level up, you have to take a look at what’s currently making your life feel messy. And I did a separate video that goes more in depth on how to reset your life when things feel out of control, so make sure to go check that one out.
## Do a quick life audit
But basically, you have to do a quick life audit. So, take a look at your health, career, finances, relationships, environment, mindset, social life, self-care, and for each one ask, “What’s working? What’s not working? And what’s one thing I can change?”
## Protect your attention
Then you prioritize and choose to focus on the ones that will actually make a difference. Protect your attention. Protect and guard your attention. This one is going to be a big one for my personal winter arc.
## Less time consuming and more time creating
I want to spend less time consuming and more time creating. It’s really easy to spend hours watching other people live their lives while you feel like you’re not doing anything for your own.
## More reading books and articles
So, I’m going to be more intentional and selective with the content that I consume: less doom scrolling and constantly checking my phone, more reading books and articles, more going outside, more creating and working on the things that actually matter to me.
## Take care of your body
You don’t have to delete every single social media app; just stop letting your phone dictate how you spend your free time. Take care of your body. Your winter arc should include your physical health, but not as a punishment.
## Get enough sleep
Move your body. Get enough sleep. Drink water. Eat food that will make you feel good. Take care of your skin and hair. Get outside and breathe fresh air.
## Find movement that you actually enjoy
Find movement that you actually enjoy. You don’t have to change your body to glow up, though if you do do these things, you’re probably going to physically glow up regardless.
## Feeling stronger, healthier, more energetic, and more confident
But having a glow up is also about feeling stronger, healthier, more energetic, and more confident. Winter project. This one I really wanted to add to my winter arc this year.
## Winter project
I want a winter project, something that I will be intentionally building over the next few months. Some examples include starting that YouTube channel, learning a new language, starting a business, reading a certain number of books, learning a new skill, or even just getting really good at a hobby.
## Something that makes you feel fulfilled
It doesn’t have to make you money. It doesn’t have to be productive. Just something that makes you feel fulfilled, that makes you feel like you’re building something.
## I started that during my winter
Because imagine getting to the new year, or even springtime next year, and being like, “I started that during my winter arc.” Have fun and enjoy life. And finally, don’t make your winter arc miserable.
## Your winter is not supposed to be punishment
That is probably the most important thing. Your winter arc is not supposed to be punishment. You don’t have to disappear for 3 months, wake up at 5:00 AM, gym hardcore every single day, cut off your friends and family.
## Have fun and enjoy life
You don’t have to become completely unrecognizable, though you might end up becoming unrecognizable anyways, regardless of if it was intentional or not, simply due to the work that you’re putting into yourself.
But you’re allowed to go out, have your lazy days, watch your favorite shows, have fun, and enjoy life. The point of a winter arc is to become more intentional with your time.
## Consistency does mean that you have never going to mess up
And if you have a bad day, that fine. Just come back the next day. Consistency does not mean that you have never going to mess up. It means that you know how to come back and get back on track.
## Your winter checklist
Your winter arc checklist. So, if you want to do this with me, here is your winter arc checklist: decide who you want to become, choose your non-negotiables, stop waiting until January to get started, do a life audit, protect your attention, take care of your body, choose a winter project, and give yourself some room to actually enjoy life.
## Nothing too complicated
That it. Nothing too complicated. You just need a direction and a willingness to keep showing up for yourself. A few years ago, my winter arc completely changed how I entered the new year, and this year I am doing it again because I want to become a version of myself that I am really proud of.
## Start now
So, if you looking for a sign to get your life together, this is it. Dont wait until January 1st. Start now, and just imagine how different your life is going to feel 3 months from now if you just start putting in the work and making these small changes today.
## Welcome to your winter
So, welcome to your winter arc. Let s see who you become by the new year. And if you doing your winter arc with me, comment winter arc down below so I know that we re doing this together.
